Access control systems
The safeguarding of pupils in a school is of utmost importance. A school needs to have the ability to monitor and control who can come into the premises. Locks and keys allow you to secure your school building, but when keys are lost or stolen, the inconvenience and expense of changing locks and re-issuing keys can be considerable. Keys may also be copied, creating security risks.
Electronic access control provides the most efficient and convenient way of securing your school and will enable logs to be automatically recorded. A door entry solution from Oakford is fully integrated into the IT system, allowing school senior leaders to configure and control access securely. Tokens are issued in the form of a key fob or an ID badge to allow access through the controlled doors. If a token is lost then it can easily be removed from the system ensuring that token will not be granted access through the controlled doors.
Once an access control system is installed, all doors controlled by the system will automatically lock when the door is closed. Anyone without fob or ID badge is unable to enter. If necessary, doors may be set to unlock during a designated time frame e.g. start and end of the school day. Equally different users can be granted different access rights e.g. only the finance team can open the finance controlled door.
