What is Infrastructure as a Service (Iaas)?

An Oakford managed IaaS solution offers a fixed cost to supply, manage and maintain your ICT infrastructure. This allows your on-site support technicians to dedicate their time to end users with the confidence that the core services “just work”.

What can an IaaS cover?

What do I need to provide?

You will need to provide a secure server room with sufficient power, network connectivity and air conditioning. The Oakford implementation team will deliver and set up all of the managed equipment.
Regular technology refresh

It is well known that using ICT equipment past its 3 year lifetime reduces system performance and availability. This is why Oakford will regularly replace all managed infrastructure hardware with new equipment, based on the latest suitable technology and carry out the migration to this new equipment for the school.

Fluke Certification
Your data cabling infrastructure will be with you for 5, 10 or possibly 25 years, so it is important to know that you got it right first time. To ensure each data cabling installation is completed to the highest possible standard, Oakford is able to test and verify every connection using industry recognised Fluke testing equipment. Further to this, we are able to produce certification documents to prove the quality of the network will satisfy the performance and intended use.
This certification can be used to maintain manufacturer backed warranty of your data terminations for up to 25 years.
Managed Wireless Network Solutions
A large number of schools are guided by non-education focused ICT companies when purchasing wireless network equipment. This has led to many failed ICT lessons due to easily avoidable errors such as devices not consistently able to login, save or print work.
